I believe you are able to hack a computer if you have prior consent from the person you are hacking. For example if you wanted to hack your friends and he agreed this would be OK. But DO NOT hack a computer that you do not have permission to.

So if you wanted to hack your own, then yes that would be OK.

its not illegal to do break your own computer just like its not illegal to wipe it or download a virus, but don't forget if your "hacking" it, you want to be careful, your ISP might not be so keen, so do it over you LAN and not over the Internet, as certain hacking methods and tools would could get your self barred by your ISP or worse.

It depends. Remember that the software on your computer is copyrighted. Their EULA's usually oppose any modifying of their software. If you're hacking a public domain program or your own, then that's fine.

It would be quite interesting to hack into your own computer and see what you've been doing- but wouldn't you already have that information?

the be conscious HACKING implies while somebody breaks into the laptop of somebody else, devoid of consent. If consent is given..this is not "hacking" to commence with. you could learn laptop skills everywhere on line, or in technical training.
