Ok, so I had AVG on my computer. I just bought Norton 2007 internet security, and I want to install it, but I have to get rid of AVG first. I have deleted AVG from my add/remove programs, and deleted Grisoft(AVG company) from my directory. However the folder is STILL in my program files, I've tried to delete it but it will not allow me to. I've held shift as I tried to delete, that didn't work.

I still can't install Norton, it fails every time.

Any suggestions?

Is it not a conspiracy of manufacturers of computers and software and sellers and support people to make money. Is there any free antivirus available on the net.

how can i totally clean and repair my computer, keeping my itunes files? my computer is loaded with viruses, non stop pop ups, super slow, freezes a lot, and i was just wondering how i could restart everything and keep my itunes folders because it would be a pain to re-download 2-3k songs...i am VERY computer illiterate too so keep that in mind when explaining the process ;)

I suspect that my computer is sending out spam... It has started to work slower, overheating(the fan is going on constantly, this never happened before) and getting errors frequently.

The pop up advertisement leads me to this website.
http://spydawn.com/?aff=334

I try to use both Norton spyware scan from Yahoo and McAfee security center form my provider, Comcast, but I could not erase it. Now, it is very often to see the advertisement on my screen that my computer has been infected by viruses. Thank you.

OK, I logged onto my computer this morning and my status for my Windows Live OneCare was red! I clicked on the balloon to see what was wrong and it said that it was unable to update the virus and spyware protection service. (The updates are automatic) So I don't understand why it's not updating? Is it a virus?

Are there better anti-virus programs than One Care? I heard AVG, Kaspersky and NOD32 were good choices. Would you recommend any of these? What would you do in my situation?

I really don't understand why people ask questions on here that are near impossible to understand because it sounds like Cookie Monster worded the question. I see things like:
Me want WEP secure?

It's much worse than that typically, but how can one expect an answer to such a nonsensical question?
