OK, I logged onto my computer this morning and my status for my Windows Live OneCare was red! I clicked on the balloon to see what was wrong and it said that it was unable to update the virus and spyware protection service. (The updates are automatic) So I don't understand why it's not updating? Is it a virus?

Are there better anti-virus programs than One Care? I heard AVG, Kaspersky and NOD32 were good choices. Would you recommend any of these? What would you do in my situation?

Hey i think ur subscription to ur anti virus provider expired. Avg has many advantages such as no need for renewal of subscription no fees, constant virus update which only take 3 minutes without needing to restart ur pc. But Avg has a waterloo: daily system scans which are 1.5 hours long. U can stop them but these are part of d virus free assesment. Norton anti Virus is great but it needs a renewal for subscription per year. Its updates are upon ur request but could bottle them up for u until they get huge n would require u to restart ur computer once they are installed. As for me AVG is d best.

I have used AVG for years and never had a problem with viruses. I use AVG and Windows Defender, which you can get from Microsoft's site. The FREE version of AVG is at http://free.grisoft.com
