We think someone may be "tapping into" our wireless Internet connection. How do we detect and block them?

I'm not asking to UNBLOCK the websites, but just get around, places like bebo.com, youtube.com, armorgames.com, and fanfiction.net. I already have access to a few, http://www.w00tage.com/, http://www.arandomproxy.com/, http://www.anoproxysurf.com/, and http://lethergo.in/, but I'm afraid with that FEW that I might not get past anything, especially youtube....help?

Since loading BT total broadband my system runs a check whenever I open a doc (word/exel etc). Looks just like a Norton check but no record of Norton on my system and I run AVG. This has happenend since I loaded the software today. HELP!!!

My spyware program Pops up and warns me when someone is trying to invade my system (Without my permission) It gives me the IP Numbers of the people who are trying to do this. I have had to RE-install my Operating system twice within the last 30 days because if a hijacker and spyware! One of them was New.Net.Domain.Plugin My Question is; Is there any way to make these people pay for the major headaches that they create by reporting them to someone?

Hi there,

I have never had a problem with pop up blocker until today,i keep getting so many its driving me mad now,ive got a yahoo blocker in progress and internet explorer one too but they still come up.. But my norton run out about a month ago


I have one more quick question,which anti virus softwear would you say is best and not too expensive?

i had one a couple of days ago and the only way i could get it out is erase all my files,pictures,music and yahoo messenger and etc etc. what is the best virus protecter?? how can i prevent this again from happening? thanks

well i keep on gettting these popups for like "system doctor" or somehting like that...and in the lower right hand corner of my computer where the clok is, theres an icon that loks like a yield sign...how can i remove this? it doesnt let me go to certain site sayin on the litte toolbar that system doctor has bloked this site and i cant go to my homepage...plus i get the wierdest popups bout porn when im not even on the internet!!!.....help?

Apparently I downloaded a music zip file from LimeWire and now I have the Alcra worm.
The Windows CMD application no longer works, and the Windows Firewall won't turn on.

I play yahoo games and there is an individual who acts like an internet "bully." He seems to be quite adept at booting people from lounges, etc. He has threatened to hack me and I believe he might have the ability. What defense might I take to prevent this(software) and if I have captured his threats to boot and hack into me, to whom can I send the threat where action (regarding both yahoo and other interested parties) will be taken if succeeds.

I'm pretty new to this whole WEP, WPA, and WPA2 security thing. I barely know what it is, but I somewhat got the jist of it. Anyway, I just need to make sure that my wireless network cannot be tapped (well, unless it was some super smart hacker which is a very unlikely possible in my neighborhood.) I have no other computers in the house at the moment, and I just need to use a wireless router for a gaming console. So if possible, I'd like to keep the connection between my the router, my computer, and the gaming console(s) at all cost.

Which should I use? WEP, WPA, WPA2? Which one is easiest to install? Please just remember that I'm pretty new to this, so please, if you can, stray away from the more technical terms and make the response as simple and comprehensive as possible for someone who knows very little about this.

I have a Netgear WGR614v7 by the way, just incase it matters.
