Norton is a system hog, and takes up a lot of system resources, so does McAfee, i couldnt do a system scan in under 50 mins. Get rid of it and go with AVG anti-virus free its 1 of the best, at the link provided, Good luck.

I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following link. http://www.computeractive.co.uk/ On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You may find it difficult to completely remove Norton, running add remove programmes keaves some entries behind. Go to the Symantec website for instructions to remove it completely. Hope this helps.

Hi,
Hope all is well.
If youve used Norton before and are comfortable with it, stay with it.
If not, yeah I like AVG. I used it for years. Im using Bitdefender now cause its got Antispyware and a firewall with its Antivirus.
I like it, no problems yet.
Another consideration also is removing Norton if it comes to that. It can be nasty to remove and possibly interfere with the other Antivirus you are using.
Norton does have a utility at its site said to completely remove it. But I have not heard any reviews of it yet.

I'd use it for now while you make up your mind. Do more research. Visit some Forums for advice.
I recommend MajorGeeks.com
They are good people there and will help you.

Hope this helps.

Get AVG or McAfee. Norton is as useful as a chocolate fireguard these days.
