Macafee and Norton are both good antivirus programs but pop ups are rarely caused by viruses and the adware detection in either one of those products is poor. I recommend adaware and/or spybot. They are free downloads from the Internet.

I use AVG antivirus which is free for home users. You get regular updates and they are committed to providing it free to non-business users for the forseeable future. However, AVG is not a pop-up blocker. You may need to download some anti-spyware software such as Lavasoft Ad-aware and Spybot Search and Destroy, all freeware programs. Try google to find them. I use them all and have a clean machine.

Switch to Firefox, add the Adblock plug in, eneble the pop up blocker and you'll never see another po-p up or advert. I can't believe how well it works.
Viruses don't cause pop ups, you need anti spyware and anti adware to help block it. Viruses and spyware are different programs, so need different software to prevent and remove them.

You need to install one firewall.
The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out.
http://www.zonelabs.com Zone Alarm firewall OR
http://www.comodogroup.com/ - Comodo firewall.

You need to install one anti virus;
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ -AVG anti virus or
http://www.avast.com - Avast Antivirus

http://www.bitdefender.co.uk/site/Main/view/Download-Free-Products.html - Bitdefender 8 doesn't run in the background and can be used as a second back up anti virus.

You need all these anti spyware programs;
http://www.ewido.net - AVG(Ewido) anti trojan.
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.
Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com
Plus;
http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware

And these are useful utilities;
http://www.mozilla.com/ - Firefox web browser.
https://addons.mozilla.org/search.php?q=ad+block&type=A&app=firefox - Adblock Plus
http://www.ccleaner.com - Cr*pcleaner Registry cleaner and privacy tool
Winpatrol is a handy utility that manages cookies on your pc and stops unwanted changes to your startup folder.
http://www.winpatrol.com
http://www.siteadvisor.com -MacAffee Site Advisor warns about malware on sites you are about to visit.

http://spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm - The Spyware Warrior site identifies fake anti spyware programs.
https://www.grc.com - Shields Up security site, check your firewall works.

Remember to update and run all of you anti malware programs at least once a week.

incredibly plenty what the different answerer mentioned. that is not almost sufficient funds to get a gadget which will run on the instant's video games even on the brink of decently. while you're making plans on development a gaming laptop, identifying to purchase your own areas is the final wager yet that may not sufficient funds to even start with.

you have contacted a virus that is causing these popups.you need to go to http://www.pcworld.com and get AVG free anti virus and get it running untill you decide with one you want, but AVG is a great free anti virus tool.as for the paid version's they are all close.I use spyware doctor and it does a great job. $30.00 good luck.
