AVG Free is the best anti-virus out there right now. Norton is total junk, uses up a lot of system resources and you have to pay for it. Avast is another free anti-virus, which is still good, but personally I like AVG.

You can try downloading McAfee's Stinger, AVG's VCleaner and Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool using a friend's computer onto a flash drive and then then send them to your computer and running them in safe mode. You may also need to use 'Show hidden files and folder setting'. (After the scan change back the setting) They are standalone antivirus and malicious software scan and remove tools that don't need to be installed. You can just run them but get the latest versions from McAfee, Grisoft (AVG) and Microsoft's websites. You can 'Google' for them. These are the 3 programs that I have used. Others I have not tried yet. If these don't help, I suggest you do a system restore in safe mode, remove all old restore points and then create a new one...Last resort, reformat your computer.

Here is a simple tutorial on how to cleanup your computer. They are real basic steps, but it is a good first step to take and will often clean out 95% of the junk (such as spyware, viruses, etc) off your computer. All the tools used are free of use. Here is the link:
