ok i wanted to change my background on my pc. i have done it many times . i get tired of looking at the same pictures on here so i change them from time to time. so when i tried to today it will not do it i pull up the folder and right click on the picture i want to be my desktop background and nothing happens. so why want it work. i even tryed to do it by the control panel it will not let me scroll down to choose another picture. why any body know?

What is trying to connect?
my zone alarm is telling me that these are trying to connect to the internet can anyone tell me what they are and if i should allow them access or not?

i tried using spybot to check what was on my computer and it found loads of bad stuff but wanted paying to clear it, i've checked for stuff with avg but it found nothing!

Can someone who works in the hospital tell how long you were on yahoo answers or other sites or can they just tell that you went to that site. Does it matter if the office is fedral or not? Can i erase my trail at all??

My dad is a computer technician for a school district so he knows all about blocking and unblocking websites. I'm homeschooled and he blocks my email and myspace and facebook. I would like to get to myspace more that anything but I wanna get to my email too. I've tried proxys but they don't work. Everytime I type in the myspace url or click on something that has to do with myspace the internet closes. And the same is true about when I try to sign in on my hotmail email account. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Something to do with Windows system32? It wants virus clearance. Thing is my virus protection never asks for Microsoft virus clearance on updates. For some reason updates just get through. This is meant to be an update but the virus protection tells me it has been altered and might be infected with a virus.
What is NT Kernel and if it is from Microsoft why does it need clearance and doesn't it get the automatic clearance that other updates do?
It's been trying for a few days now. I'm puzzled ...

i installed world of warcraft with a mac pro which meets every single recommended requirerments (sorry for spelling) but when ever I use it my BT home hub says that the broadband link is down its really annoying I just wanna use World of warcraft I no I won't get addicted cause I don't have an addictive personality.

How do I get this annoyance off my computer? I'm tired of all the obscene flashing ads, pop ups and shifting web pages. I'll sometimes be on a legitimate page when it changed over to some kind of website about "soul searching" only it has different content on it every time (according to whatever I was doing when it switched over). It's really ticking me off because I HATE spyware, I'm just not sure how to get it off my machine. I'm operating Vista. Any tips?

Today, my computer suddenly started going haywire. My homepage changed to http://asafetyproject.com and pagesextremely slow to load. There are alot of System Alert popup messages for spyware programs and other type popups. Additionally, an unsolicited program called SpyLocked has made my PC its home. Please help.

me old man is looking to upgrade his office IT eqp, this is current set up,

First - is it safe? if not what does he need to buy / implement etc...

firewall is just a router at present, not allowing people in from the net and stopping employees looking at some types of sites.. (porn i guess, haha)

his webserver is his PDC for his windows domain or something too if that makes any difference..

Last week my internet connection (dial-up) disappeared. I did a system restore, and got it back. But now every time I try to connect after I shut down down my laptop or it goes on standby the network connection is gone again!!!! Is this a virus??? How do I fix this problem???

I have approx 3 weeks left of the above before I have to renew. I have just been notified by them by e-mail that a further 1 years subs.will be £39.99. I went to their Web site only to discover the same security suite is on offer at £24.99. Whats going on. My work network is protected by firewall and what not and I am unable to us Yahoo IM at work. I understand that if you change the port Nos u will be able to log into yahoo IM.what are the prot nos to be changed to and and please give step by step instructions.I am not an expert. i seem to have forgotten my password to my account, i made it really long and now i cant remember the whole thing. I have tried dwnloading some of these programs but they require to reset the password, but what i want is to only retrieve it.
