You may need to make adjustments to your tools/internet options/ security and privacy settings.
Go to Tools/internet options/security/internet/custom level/Medium or Medium-High(depending on how safe you want to be)/ok/ok .
Then Tools/internet options/security/trusted sites/custom level/low or medium, depending on how much you trust the sites and how safe you want to be/ok/ok ,
Then go to trusted zone and uncheck the require https or secure authentication.
then to make a site a "Trusted site", Tools/internet options/security/trusted sites/sites/paste in the url in the box/add/ok/apply/ok.

set to highest ,same as restricted zone.
Then go to trusted zone and set that to medium low or low .
Then click on add sites ( in trusted zone ) and add either a specific site or domain.

Go into tools, Internet Options and choose security. Then scroll down to select enable disable or prompt for each category.

You do not want any software or download you do not approve of. Go to Yahoo.com and utilze the toolbar download for Pop-Up Blocker. Worked great for me for the past three years and it is free.
In addition contact your internet provider for additional protection from sypware, malware, and virus. Most provide some programs for free through your usage of their services. You can also go to CNET.com and click downloads for free programs to potect you system (AVG,AntiVir,SpyBot,Adaware, etc.) Good Luck.

If you are getting that message you may also be getting a message just under your toolbar. If so, you should click on that and it will install Active X for you.
