if you have a windows you can press pop up block. then it's shut off. that's how i do it.

left click on tools on the top of this page scroll down to pop up blocker turn it off not a good idea though pop ups are a pain.

I agree with the last comment, but lot of sites are using pop-up legitimately. What you can do is set the security preferences to allow pop-ups from particular sites. Unfortunately, when you clear your private information (deleting history or forms or whatever), you will have to re-allow.

You can turn it off. But then you get loads of stuff you dont want. If its just one thing every so often that you want. Try pressing control at the same time as you click on what you want. This lets it through. works for me.
