Are these yahoo advertisers? I subscribe to SBC/AT&T yahoo, and have Norton anti virus program. Occassionaly, a notice of conflict comes up. Is the protection from SBC/AT&T sufficient? Should I remove Norton?

This whole thing started in early november (i am using safemode now). There were two unwanted pop ups that continued to show up. I asked about it on yahoo, and the answer that i got was to do a whole bunch of things to clean the computer and then use super anti spyware. After doing those things, I can use the Internet, but I can't sign in to any sites that require passwords, except in safe mode. I posted a question about this before, and i was reccommended to clean the cache and restore all settings to default in the IE tools Internet options tab. I did that to no avail. Also, a friend reccommended that I used a system restore. That hasn't been successful either. I got an IPOD for christmas and i have a renewed interest in using this machine outside of safe mode. The computer is an older model Sony Gateway but I have Windows XP installed on it now. The computer was stored for about 7 or 8 months when my son decided that he wanted it. But now the only problem is that he is unable to do any kind of administrative activity such as application installs, maintainence, and other such personal preferences. I in the meantime have a new computer that I have been working with for the past 8 months and have since changed my passwords frequently. Another words, since I put the old computer to rest, I now cannot seem for the life of me remember the password I used last on the old computer. Even though I left a password hint for myself which was, "My last one"- (that's the hint)- My last one. I cant for the life of me figure out what my last one was, is, or ought to be. I've tried everything that I can think of to figure out what my last one could possibly mean but haven't a clue? Please help, I'm sure there has to be some way of over-riding the system.

i have problems turning on windows automatic updates although i've already turn in on actually and automatic updates in services.msc cannot be found.

I have problem updating it and microsoft also at it will appear "The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view.Error number: 0x80070424".

The icon in the bottom show a red cross icon and it remain unable to turn the security updates on.Isit a virus or something that prevent the automatic updates from on or isit because of automatic updates not found in services.msc?

*dont ask me to go under system to check the automatic updates all that stuffs because i've already done in lots of times.

If i find that someone is phishing my yahoo account while i am online, once i signed out will they able to get more information from my account. One time when i am using my home computer, something irregular is happening when i am trying to access yahoo. I already have a sign in seal for my computer. The thing is when i am browsing to yahoo website it was sooooo..... slow. And after 30-1 hr of waiting for it to get online. I tried to sign in but it wouldn't let me. It wouldn't show the sign in seal that i am waiting for to tell me i am in a safe site..I tried going by it thru Yahoo messenger and it automatically signed me in. I had to because i am waiting for an important email. Would that be an opening for those phishing to get information? Please help and inform me how to go about this. thanks so much.

is it about all paid anti-virus softwares ( kaspersky, Nod32, F-secure, etc) are for one year only? so is it means if i paid let say $20 to purchased the kaspersky 6.0, then after one year of using it, i have again pay some amount to Renew it? so in this way, we are paying for our anti-virus software every year!!?? not that good. And by the way, i saw that CA eTrust antivirus is providing a free trail of one full year, is this software good enough? thank you
