My friends son is 11 and he likes to call himself a "Hacker". So far all that I'm aware of him having done is going into an online kids game and changing the price of some items to "0" , then he "Buys" them, then changes the price back to the original amt. He likes to tell his little buddies that he will use his "hacking programs" to erase their Hi Scores on their online games as well.
Should I be concerned? At what point is this considered actually Hacking and what should I do about it, if anything?

I have Cox Communications Cable/Internet Service and a Motorola Cable Modem/Wireless Router Combo. I am able to connect to this connection with the 2 laptops and xboxlive in my apartment, but would like to secure the network so no one else besides those in my household can use it. Can you please give me directions or a specific website to do this?

An hour ago my laptop was attacked with some trojan or spyware, i am not sure which. I downloaded a few anti-spywares and now I have an icon on my desktop which is titled "HIJACKTHIS". When I double click on it, it says that this is not a valid win32application. I also canot delete it, it would say that another person or program is using it. I fear that this icon would be harmful to my laptop. I had a long night downloading various antispywares (spybot, adaware, superantispyware, spyware doc, u name, i've got it) but none would work on this unremovable icon! my laptop is slightly lagging, and is a tad annoying, please help!

It's not like I depend upon it a lot because there are better anti-spy programs; but my Yahoo Toolbar / Norton Spysware Scan has not updated its spyware signature definitions for over a month now. My definitions were last updated on 11/21/06 and the definitions version is 10333.

Anyone else had any more recent updates?

Note: This is not the old Yahoo Anti-Spy, this would be the new toolbar with NSS (Norton)

Thanks.

I keep getting these popups saying that i need to clean my registry and each popup says I need to go to a different website to download a tool to fix it. Oviously i am not going to the website, and my virus software (norton antivirus 2007) does not detect a virus. I checked task manager to see what was running this and it came up with csrss.exe. I tried to end it to see if it was a virus version, but it said it was a critical system process and would not end it. How do I stop these viral like popups?

Is there a way of disabling Vista's UAC dialogs on a per program basis. I have winrar installed and I get prompted every time I open a zip or rar file asking if i trust this program. I would like to eliminate that dialog and permanently allow winrar to run, without disabling the entire UAC system.

Alright... So my computer basically went nuts... Now whenever I try to get on my homepage .. google.com ... an aniti-spyware site comes up.. Also... Whenever I go online multiple anti-spyware sites keep telling me i'm infected and need to buy their product and I get those popups that say my computer is infected and there is an intruder who can steal all my passwords.. this kinda freaks me out to type in my passwords and check my email because i don't know whats wrong with my computer. Can anyone help? what exactly do I do? My norton is out of date and I used to have spysweeper but it ran out as well.... I'm not to keen on putting any personal info online right now or credit card info to get anti-spyware material as well.. please help!
