Alright... So my computer basically went nuts... Now whenever I try to get on my homepage .. google.com ... an aniti-spyware site comes up.. Also... Whenever I go online multiple anti-spyware sites keep telling me i'm infected and need to buy their product and I get those popups that say my computer is infected and there is an intruder who can steal all my passwords.. this kinda freaks me out to type in my passwords and check my email because i don't know whats wrong with my computer. Can anyone help? what exactly do I do? My norton is out of date and I used to have spysweeper but it ran out as well.... I'm not to keen on putting any personal info online right now or credit card info to get anti-spyware material as well.. please help!

Sounds like you're using Microsoft Windows. Unfortunately it is not safe to use when connected to the internet - as you have found out (the hard way).

Use superantispyware

http://www.superantispyware.com

to clear up the current mess.

You *must* have anti-malware products running on Windows, and they *must* be updated at least every 8 hours if you are going to connect it to the internet. You *must* also have a firewall.

I'd suggest purchasing the pay-for version of superantispyware. And always keep it current! Run full scans every week to make sure.

Always install all updates from Microsoft.

Never use Internet Explorer - use Mozilla Firefox instead:

You first try to carryout system restore to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html The problem will be solved. Then,You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at
http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html
After running the virus scan delete all temprory internet files including off line content and also unwanted files and temp. files. Finally, carryout a defragmentation . Your system will be back to the normal...!

I would, first of all agree that you shouldn't be making any purchases on the web with an infected machine. I also would hesitate before recommending any specific removal tools until you are sure of what you got on your computer. You can start here:
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
This is an online scanner by Kaspersky, one of the best antivirus companies.

You can also go here: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
to look for spyware.

You can also download these programs (for free) and run them to check for infection:
http://www.lavasoft.de/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php

http://www.superantispyware.com/

http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

Since your computer is infected, it would be best to run these programs in "safe mode". To do this, you should reboot your computer, and as it boots up, repeatedly press the F8 button. You'll get a DOS screen, and you should choose "Safe Mode" using your up-down arrows then hit enter. When you log in you'll be asked to confirm that you want to run in Safe Mode, say Yes. Your screen will look odd as none of the third party drivers have loaded (including your display drivers), but don't worry, just run the security programs and reboot when you’re done. If pressing the F8 key does not work. You can get into Safe Mode by doing this: Open your start menu and click on "Run". In the little box type "msconfig" (without the quotes) and click "OK". On the new window that opens click on the "BOOT.INI” tab. On the BOOT.INI tab, look in "Boot Options" and click the "/Safeboot" option, and NOTHING ELSE. Click OK and reboot your computer. You'll automatically be brought into Safe Boot. Again run the security scanners you've downloaded and reboot.
If none of this completely cleans your machine. The next step I would take would be to download a program called “Hijack This” available here: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php#hijackthis
Unzip the file into its own folder on your system drive (in most cases the drive labeled "C"). You can create a folder called "Hijack This" on your C drive and unzip the contents into it. Open the program by double clicking the icon (it looks like a little bundle of dynamite) and choose the first option "Do a system scan and save a logfile". Save the file to your desktop.
Next go here:
http://forums.tomcoyote.org/index.php?s=474a9657a9149f2b5e163708be9fb09b&showforum=27

or here

On both sites you will have to register (it's free), and choose a username. Start a thread describing your problem and mention the steps you've already taken. Then open your Hijack this log on your desktop, and copy and paste it into your thread. Submit your log and you will be emailed when one of the security experts has taken a look at it. Both sites have rules for posting, you might want to check those out, but, in essence, they boil down to: Be polite, patient, and provide as much detail as possible. You'll need to be patient as they have a lot of logs to look at. Follow their advice to the letter.

"Phew" Having said all that, most security experts agree that the best way to get rid of malware is to reinstall Windows. If you don't have a disk, you can get one by calling: 1-800-360-7561. They will ask you for your product key to make sure your copy of Windows is legit. If you choose to reinstall, or even if you don’t, please re-subscribe to Norton (or another AV) and SpySweeper (it's a great program) and KEEP them current. Also this site can help you learn about computer safety: http://www.malwarehelp.org/

All the best

Your computer may have a Smitfraud infection. You will need to use a specialised removal tool such as SmitFraudFix v2.8:

or
RogueFix:

To remove this pest.

download some other antispyware. what you described is most likely to be a spyware, not a virus. try spyware doctor:
