I am working in windows xp, and these programs work fine when I am using a file from my c drive, it seems like all the files on my e drive are corrupted. I just tried to open a jpeg file in 3 other programs and none will recognize it. the most info I got was from photoshop cs and it stated a (unknown or invalid jpeg marker)

I tried what you said I moved a picture from my e drive to my c drive and when it transfered it is now listed as a quiktime file. psp cs would not open it so I tried to open it in quiktime and it said it was not a video file.

Try to copy the file from the storage drive to system in c drive and open....see the result if it open it mean the there is some problem with the data on your storage drive.

If still same problem then scan your system online by symantec

I really don't think it's a virus. Have you try using another app to open these files?? If you have the same error again, it means that Window can no long recognized these files. The files are still there, but the part that tell Windows what kind of file they're is corrupted. I don't know how or why but Norton might have something to do with it. I have always have problem with any Norton products on my PC. You can try to uninstall Norton to see if it works but i feared that the damage is already done. I don't know of any way to fix the error, sorry.
