Security - October 2006

This google toolbar keeps appearing when I reopen my Explorer. It hides Yahoo's toolbar (which I prefer). Do you know what files to delete and where to find them?

How can I get free from brontok.q viruses while I tired to remove them using AVG, Norton, McAfee and Kaspersky but they won't delete forever. If formated my computer and they are also comming back, why?

I have tried three options so far with no success. Soooooo, if I totally removed yahoo messenger from my pc would the virus b removed also. In other words...If I would remove it and then add the program, a newer version, would the virus b removed and the new version of yahoo msgr b ok. I think this is my only resolve.. Please advise.
I know I can get my buddie list back with the regular people I keep in touch with by IM. So all the others dont matter anyway...
Id like to know...inquiring minds wanna know too...people r getting irked by the virus caused by this yahoo IM invasion of privacy...

This virus was sent to me in email. It affects only the yahoo IM msgr, nothing else. But it affects the people on my msg as the virus interrupts all of my people on my list. I need to clear this ASAP

Every time my daughter uses Yahooligans (Internet for kids) we wind up with a Trojan in our system referred to as "QHosts.DF". How can I figure out where it comes from and how do I prevent it from reoccurring? (Aside from not letting her use her computer!)

I don't know how it happened, but I suddenly got a severe infestation of viruses and the sort on my PC. THe thing is I don't know how to get rid of them. One of my friends told me about this really great program, but I forgot the name of it. Can anyone give me a good program for removing these unwanted programs from my computer?

About 8pm - is this a serious thing? Norton detected it, I don't know if it's gone or not. Any suggestions how I can find out? I ran a full scan, my number of files seems massive - would this be an effect? Any help would be very welcome.

Sometimes, while I'm away, my cousins/brothers who would be on my computer would go on pornographic sites. Despite me telling them numerous times to stop, they still do it. This is getting out of hand and I think it's time I take action. I am willing to block every pornographic site that's on my history. If there's a way I can block all sites that are 18+ required, that would be wonderful. Please do not tell me to tell my parents or beat them up. That's irrelevent. Right now I just want to block the sites? Can anyone instruct me how?

my comp has been showing popups like crazy
so i went to the webroot spy sweeper program and it found a trojan and a bunch of other adware
i got it all off so it says does anyone know if it is really off of my comp.

In 2003. As a security question it told me I had a morgage in 2003. Then it listed several creditors or none and several loan amonts then none. I checked the block listed none of the above. Then I went to loans. It did not list any morgage in 2003. Was that a security question they ask, why do they do that? It scarred the **** out of me. It was Equalfax.

Yeah so I downloaded sumthin off limewire **cough** and now i want to get rid of it. I right click and delete, but it sais file can not be removed or some one or another program is running the file.....strange i have no programs running...so yeah How do i delete this thing off my PC?? The virus is a Trojan Dialler and is located in C/windows/Temp/idd94.tmp.exe. Norton Quarantines this file and deletes it, however the alert pops up every 20 mins. so far since yesterday, I have over 60 attempts by the same virus. My firewall is on, my Definitions are up to date. what could the problem be? My computer ands Norton software is 2 mths old, and everything is up to date, windows updates etc.

Any Ideas???
