The virus is a Trojan Dialler and is located in C/windows/Temp/idd94.tmp.exe. Norton Quarantines this file and deletes it, however the alert pops up every 20 mins. so far since yesterday, I have over 60 attempts by the same virus. My firewall is on, my Definitions are up to date. what could the problem be? My computer ands Norton software is 2 mths old, and everything is up to date, windows updates etc.

Any Ideas???

This sounds familiar. A friend has this happening. What it doing is trying to get on the computers through your ISP. As long as it being blocked you OK. These type viruses try to get on computers that unprotected and left on all the time. Some then use the computer as a Server. If, Norton give a name you may write it down and report it to your ISP Security Department.

You should be happy Norton did it's job. Dialler's are a S.O.B! Try deleting your Temp internet files. Then go to start, search, click file & folders, type the name tmp.exe, delete it manually. If you can't go to safe mode, and do it there. Good luck!

Check your settings on your internet connection. A dialler should be set to your internet service provider if it isn't then delete that connection.
Click, start then go to to "connect to" then "show all connections". delete the one you don't use. When you connect again to your usual connection check to see its the correct one and the password is correct. I had a rogue dialler on mine and ended up receiving a bill for somewhere in Quebec!! I got hacked from somewhere.

i believe it hadn't deleted the file. just check it by going to c:\windows\temp\ and see if the file mentioned by you is still there. u might not see it so go to folder options in the tools option of ur windows explorer and set that u r able to view hidden files too. now go to start button. hit run type msconfig press enter a box will come in this select startup and see if there is any entry which is linked to unknown softwares or programes just disable it. now restart perform a full scan but be sure ur antivirus is uptodate. if it fails try ewido(avg antispyware from www.ewido.net/)

Download Spyware Vanisher and Spy Watcher from download.com, they got rid of 6 different trojans I had. Norton, on the other hand, is not bale to delete some viruses, instead putting them in quarantine.

there is nothing so worry about as long as the virus does not enter ur computer. however. u may have downloaded something that allows that virus to continue to try and re-enter. also, a trojan horse is a virus disgusted to look useful such as a log in or something. ur yahoo mail login may b the virus it self.
