My pc runs slow sometimes and it is less than 6mos old,I have a antivirus and registry cleaner,I new at this and I don't want to overload my pc! Thanks

My Mcaffee Antivirus has just expired. I never had a firewall and everthing has been just fine with no problems for the past year.

I went to best buy and they had on sale Mcaffee's viruscan and firewall as a package deal for 29.99.

The guy there wanted to sell me however PCScillen for 40 bucks and it was only the viruscan.

The reason why he said that the PCScillen was better was because he said it had less system requirements which inturn would make the computer run faster. Is he right?

Also he said that windows has a built in firewall. What do y'all computer dudes and dude ettes think HMMN?

IT's like site keep on poping out my windows and the site is called partyporker and then after i cancel the site it started to make noise every 5 seconds like this, Yall yall yall yalll yalllllllllllllllllllllllll, VERY ANNOY. Is there any way i can delate that annoy adware.

ok, I scanned my pc for viruses using bitdefender and it found something in my outlook express. This is what it found:

WINDOWS\Application Data\Identites\{AA638A-3252-11EC-8694-A637EB7DDF6C}Microsoft\Outlook Express\Deleted Items.dbx=>[Subject: Open vacancy: Perfect offer][Date: Thu, 31 Aug 2006 09:59:16+0200]=>(MIME part)=>au.exe

Bitdefender could not fix it.

any ideas as to what it is and does and how to fix it would be appreciated.

how long does it take to load the linux kernel. I sepnt like 5 minutes waiting and it didnt load. Im using the 64 bit version. im running it on a live CD. I just burnt it last night.

I keep recieving emails that look like they would be from a friend of mine (also a yahoo user) but they are obviously not from her because in the "from" area it just lists her screen name, and I have her in my addressbook by her real name (which is what usually comes up when she sends an email.) When I open the email it has an attachment that my virus scan recognizes as a virus. I did some research and found that the emails come from an isp address belonging to a company that a different friend of mine works for. Who's computer is being hacked into and how do I get these emails to stop?

My girlfriends sites ; myspace, xanga, facebook and others have all been deleted...it has happened before but nothing has happened for a few months..but again all her sites have disappeared..yet other people who use the computer have their sites unharmed..she changed her password from the last time..and thought that would prevent it from happening again..is there a course of action we can take to find out who did this..or at least prevent it from happening in the future?

to figure that out I cant get online with my other computer either thru dialup or ethernet it shut down my mcafee so I had to install with a cd norton I checked all settings on modem and ethernet card and it shows working fine

I have a Belkin Wireless G router, but run Kerio firewall as well. I do realize NAT routers don't require a software firewall, but what about wireless routers? If I don't need one, I'd love to get those resources back.

I have a real problem, My machine was infected by a virus(i don't remenber it's name), it (my PC) begans to restar everytime I was listen music. then I found Avast(antivirus) and it detect the virus, so with my permission the avast begans to delete the virus and some others infected files, and I don`t know if avast delete a system's file or the virus still survive, but the thing is that after that, my PC always restar without loading the operative system (windows XP).
Then i try to repair the system with an installation CD of win xp, and my PC boots form the CD but when it is still loading my machines restar again, then I try with a Knopix CD wich is a LINUX that can boot form the CD, but when it ti loading my machines reastar again, if I disconnect my hard drive and conect another totally new (in blank) hard drive and try to install windows XP form a new installation CD, my machine restart again.
I apreciate step by step suggestions and no just a LINK, but any advice is welcome

the culprit is able to intercept my calls and track me through my frequently called numbers. I am also able to send messages to the culprit through my own number and in turn get reply from the culprit from my own number. Some call is cloning/some call in hacking. Please help. The crime is very high tech in nature and a layman is unable to give me a reply. I have sought help from the police authorities and from all concerned. The Ministry of Telecom has viewed it very seriously and this has been happening to me for the past six months. This has pushed the family to untold agony and hardship apart from financial loss for running from pillar to post. The messages received are of a very serious nature - threatening, criminal intimidation, sexual harrasement. I can produce all my cell phones with the messages in tact. Many messages have been in the form of SCROLL messages. The culprit is able to operate my mobile phone by switching off and the messages are received without alarm.
