Other - Computers - October 2007

I have a friend who is in Iraq and her mom uses the computer as a soul means of communicating. The only problem is the mom has no clue. I have written down step by step instructions and she still gets lost and ends up deleting things that shouldn't be deleted. I don't mind going out there and helping, but the mom tells my friend that I have deleted stuff that was not deleted and when she can't do something it is all my fault. How do I teach this woman enough to get the job done? Just a little more info, she has dial up instead of an always connected. I think this is a large part of the problem.

ok,i fiddled around on my pc (windows xp).and somehow i changed something and i dont know how to change it back...u know when you start up your computer and it comes up with the profiles on the computer with their display pics next 2 them...well after i fiddled round i now have a little box saying...log on to windows, user name, password. i can log on fine but i want to change it back to normal...how do i do this?

I am enthusiastic and motivated to get into the Information Technology field. I currently do not work in the IT industry, but I am training myself to get my A+ Certification and Network + Certifications. Would I be able to find a job with just these certifications alone? I do not have alot of time right now to go back to school (new baby, new wife, new house).

None of the files are hosted in my server. I'm just linking the song files which are hosted on some other servers... Is this legal or illegal... How come there are many sites which shares mp3 files are still exists..

Surely someone has catalogued common errors and symptoms particular to manufacturers. What I mean is, is there a program that you can type in the manufactorer, product, and browse symptoms, then find causes?

I prefer keeping mines the XP Look! how about you, do you like customizing xp to liek the Classic Version?

In yahoo mail, for example, you can check the "sent" column but it only shows you what was sent directly from it's program. I need to ::know if someone got mine before i resend it and embarass myself if they did get it and are just not responding to me!

I bought something on Ebay , I tried to pay with PayPal but after I click "Confirm your payment ", I get put on a different page with 2 options "click to retry" and "return to home" .

The only way I know how to fax is to drive to staples and pay money, is there a software program or ?? online site AS I ONLY NEED IT RARELY BUT ALSO I AM 1/2 SICK AND IT IS DIFFICULT FOR ME TO GET OUT so even if software costs more, in the long run would it be good and I have windows xp bought compaq puter in fall 2006, it has fax icon, can I fax if I only have one phone line, I have dsl, Geez, I know nothing about this , simple help is best thanks remember I am poor and sick thanks but trying to do online business

When I use my side bar to scroll up or down it goes real slow and my window looks choppy and wavy and when I drag stuff around my screen it looks slow and wavy too. I dont know what to do cause I've done a virus scan and everything eals is fine too. Please help.
