This would really help me be more productive on the job. But the place I work for has rules against this (my intention is not to share any of my emails - just to have the emails with my pda). Please, informed answers only. ALSO: please do not answer with "ask your employer" (I already tried that).

Is more productivity worth the potential to lose your job? It's generally not a good idea to break the rules especially if you've already asked for permission.

If you have your messages stored on the server at work and not downloaded only into your Outlook client, then you can setup an Outlook account on your pc at home and forward them from home into your hotmail acccount. When you are forwarding the emails to your Hotmail account at home, you will be using the ISP's SMTP (send mail) server that you connect with at home instead of the SMTP server that you use at work. Given they will be able to tell the last IP that your messages were downloaded from, but you can say you downloaded your messages so that you can access them at home. They won't be able to detect that messages were sent, again, because this is not their send mail server. Now, if you access your company's webmail and there are no messages there, then you need to enable the option to leave a copy of messages on the server (see below). Once the messages accumulate again, then you can do what I have included below.

Create an Outlook account on your pc and make sure that you don't click on Send/Receive yet. Click on Tools, Email Accounts, and place the dot where it has View/Change Existing Account and click Next. Click on the More Settings button to the lower right, and then click on the Advanced tab. There is an option that needs to be checked..Leave a Copy of Messages on the Server. Click OK, then Finish. Checking that option allows any messages that you have stored on the server at work to remain there instead of downloading solely into your mail client at home.

Yes. All outbound traffic goes through a SMTP server that most likely has filters on it.

Most companies also have strict policies against saving company information on your PDA.

"please do not answer with "ask your employer" (I already tried that)." Really? What did they say? No?

If your boss has any common sense, he is employing techs to service the office such that they can check what goes on with your PC. If your boss doesn't want you to take work home, that means he is willing to have less work done as opposed to possibly jeopardizing company business. To go against his express wishes is to put yourself in the unemployment line.

in case you have your messages saved on the server at artwork and not downloaded in basic terms into your Outlook customer, then you actual can setup an Outlook account on your laptop at homestead and forward them from homestead into your hotmail acccount. once you're forwarding the emails on your Hotmail account at homestead, you would be utilising the ISP's SMTP (deliver mail) server which you connect with at homestead particularly of the SMTP server which you employ at artwork. Given they are going to be waiting to tell the final IP that your messages have been downloaded from, yet you are able to say you downloaded your messages so as which you will get right of entry to them at homestead. they gained't be waiting to stumble on that messages have been sent, back, with the aid of fact it is not their deliver mail server. Now, in case you get right of entry to your organization's webmail and there are no longer any messages there, then you actual might desire to enable the alternative to bypass away a replica of messages on the server (see decrease than). as quickly as the messages gather back, then you actual can do what I truthfully have risk-free decrease than. Create an Outlook account on your laptop and purely remember to do no longer click on deliver/acquire yet. click on approaches, electronic mail bills, and place the dot the place it has View/substitute modern-day Account and click next. click on the extra Settings button to the decrease suited, and then click on the stepped forward tab. there is an option that must be checked..bypass away a replica of Messages on the Server. click ok, then end. Checking that option enables any messages which you have saved on the server at artwork to proceed to be there particularly of downloading fullyyt into your mail customer at homestead.

now lets say it is a small company that you work for.... just forward it to your hotmail account.... go into the "sent" folder and delete that email you just sent to yourself.. its that simple.... if it is highly classified and you want to make sure that no one knows you are sending this to yourself.. then dont do it... just pint it out and keep that hard copy for yourself.
