Go To Control Panel>Users, and find the window that opens from "Change The Way Users Log On". You Probably changed those settings...

Open Control Panel and open user accounts. There should be a setting in there about using the windows logon screen or soemthing. I can't recall off the top of my head and I am connected to a domain right now so mine looks different. You need to tell it to use the windows log on screen. There may also be a classic setting you can change back to windows xp.

try logging into administrator and change the setting to fast user switching, under the users options in the control panel.

Did you turn on the screen saver with password protection? You can turn that off on
Right click on screen -> Select Screen Saver -> Unchecked the box "on resume password protected"
