faxing for a 56 year old dinausor here ?? what should I use please read:?

The only way I know how to fax is to drive to staples and pay money, is there a software program or ?? online site AS I ONLY NEED IT RARELY BUT ALSO I AM 1/2 SICK AND IT IS DIFFICULT FOR ME TO GET OUT so even if software costs more, in the long run would it be good and I have windows xp bought compaq puter in fall 2006, it has fax icon, can I fax if I only have one phone line, I have dsl, Geez, I know nothing about this , simple help is best thanks remember I am poor and sick thanks but trying to do online business

get yourself an MFD (multi function device) that has a printer/scanner/fax/copier - an all in one unit you can hook up to your computer and telephone line with no issues. I prefer HP but Brother makes a good one also

you can use eFax which is an online tool for about $10 per month - npt really that worth it

you can use Windows buitl in toosl depending upon what version you have or you can buy software for faxing for about $40

all in all I have tried all of the above and I am sticking with my MFD for a variety of reasons - but maily becuase i can fax without the requiement to have a computer attatched to it.

All you need to send a fax from home is a fax machine and a phone line. You can share the phone line with your computer as long as you don't use both at once. Just disconnect the computer when you want to send or receive a fax, and disconnect the fax when you want to use the phone line with the computer.
