Well, I'm helping someone with there computer. But while I do that, I'd like to show them what they COULD do on the computer that doesn't consist of email, checking the bank and stuff like that.

Any suggestions about this? In otherwords.. I'm trying to show that the computer could be.. fun to use.. Maybe slightly addictive as well. haha

My father was adopted. About five years ago I did a search to find his birth family. I was succesful, however after speaking with his half brother he never knew one time, the brother never would talk to me again. The thing is, my father was killed in
1979. I respect his birth brothers choice not to be a part of our lives, All I would like is a photo of him, and of my fathers birth mother who is also deceased. I don't want to interfere in his life. I just want to know what they look like, All of my life I have wondered What, and who we come from I especially would love to see a picture of their mother. Is there anyway to get a photo of someone from the internet?

can i run Mac OS X on windows XP?
for eg, i can run Linux (Fedora 7) on XP using the VMware player as a virtual machine.

Can the same be done for Mac OS X? how?

I do not have my reciept, however I do have my bank statement showing the amount deducted via USPS as the exact amount that I charged the buyer for shipping. The item and shipping altogether is between $25-$30, so would I be better to just cut my losses and refund the buyer or is there some way that I can keep my money and the buyer can get their money back through ebay. I also specifically asked the buyer if they wanted insurance and they said "no". Am I still obligated to refund them the money even though I will be out the money and the item I sold?

My laptop can't read the DVD+R disc. I don't know why. My hard drive says compact disc ReWritable. Is it because DVD discs don't work on laptop computers? Does it only work on desktop computers? If anyone knows anything about this please help. Please I need some answers. Help!!!

when i run defrag c: -b, normally a blank command window pops up and it starts to defrag. it goes away ina minute or so. for me now, it just pops up for a split second, then goes away. i have also tried 3rd party boot defrags, but it wont work either.

does it have to do with xp services? cause my boot speed is getting progressively slower

I saw on this persons page how she had a comment that someone had sent her in the past right above where you click comment and it wasnt apart of the comment section she didnt even show all her comments.

At home I rest my cell phone near my computer speakers and near my TV. Sometimes the speakers make rhythmic noises just before my cell phone rings, and sometimes when it doesn't even ring.

I have been having problems accessing some programs. I keep getting the following message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item". I do not know what it means or how to fix it. Any ideas would be grateful. I had to do a repair of XP, due to viruses and the message has been coming since. People keep telling me to run scans - done them, clean; go into safe mode - do not want to do anything without assistance, in case I do something wrong. I do not know what to do.

Starting about 2 months ago cd burner started occasionally telling me that a blank disc needed to be inserted even though there was one (100% new, quality disc). Then it started doing it all the time. Then the PC stopped recognizing that there even was a cd burner all together (for example, double click a file > the "send to" drop-down stopped listing the burner; and WMP would tell me to "connect a burner and restart ..." when I'd click BURN. I use Nero and can perfectly copy a disc from the PC's player onto a blank in this "problem" burner. It is a Sony burner that came bundled with Cyberlink Power DVD software. I contacted Microsoft, Cyberlink and Sony, we ran all kinds of tests on the burner and they assured me that it's running perfectly. I ran Troubleshooting and Driver Update through the Devise Manager, and these systems came up OK and up to date. The only thing I can correlate with the onset of this problem is that I installed Magix MP3 Maker about this same time. I restored to as far back as I could go and it worked again, but my internet didn't work (which had never been a problem), and I returned to the present

I decided to remove a bunch of files from my laptop - nothing other than games and Y! Messenger and AIM and a Southwestern Bell DSL file. We have Charter broadband and a wirelss router so I figured I did't need the SB DSL file. Now when I click on internet explorer I get the IE "frame" with all my favorites listed but I get the message that page not available - check your settings..... what did I do wrong and how do I fix?
