I'm getting errors that the DVD is a read only file and that I can't copy the files to my computer. Are all DVDs like this? How do people upload them then?

Why do people in here constantly ask questions in here that relate to the operating system, such as asking for software recommendations, without telling the operating system? I simply cannot understand it. Are they not actually seeking help, but rather seeking to drive us crazy?

I've been having problems with my computer freezing up on me and I was told to try and do degragmentation but it never finishes. Actually it never progresses past 1% and I've left it running for over 2 hours and when I come back to check on the progress, it's still at 1%. Why would this be? How can I get it to finish defragging?
