User and group management implemented via the command line.... what is the command to do that?

I want to damage files on a CD so no one can steal them when they go in the garbage (can they be recylced?).

How effective is scratching the CD? I know it happens by accident with little viable damage...and there's some CD that have gone through hell and run without a problem.

If it is effective, whats the best way to do it? Deep, a certain direction? All over and not just in one area?

Is there anyway people can still get to the files after scratching them real good...?

If an image is 1024x768 pixels with 3 bytes/pixel and uncompressed. How long does it take to transmit it over a 56kbps modem? How do you calculate this problem? I am not looking for the answer, just the equation. Thanks.

class work?

I want to buy one for 10 dollars. I might have over 45 pages of work ( word documents) to save plus random stuff like powerpoint and EXCELL. It's for class.

What's the difference between bootup/start up disk and Emergency Repair Disk(ERD)?
(I'm using Windows 2000)

1-Is start up disk will let me boot up my computer if my computer has troubling with starting?
So if my computer has some troubling with starting,I can use the windows 2000 cd or the start up disk(4 floppy disks)
&
2-The ERD will not boot my system but do repair my computer.
Am I right?

Want something that will store/edit their digital photos, surf the net, send the occasional email, & type/store files in WORD. Unfortunately they live in an area where a dial up connection is their only option. Basically, they want is something that is relatively fast & not that expensive. There will be no games loaded on, as they are in their early 70'S.

I'm trying to study for my Intro to Micro-Computer's test for on Tuesday, and I couldn't remember if an operating system is hardware or not. I do know, however, that Windows is an operating system. I guess I got confused from how my mom tried explaining to me the difference between hard and soft ware.

When I start XP a messagebox says The requested control is not valid for this service, also if the screen dosent freeze it can look like colored curtains blocking everything. If I survive about 5mins all will continue as normal. Any ideas (no virus known)??

I have tried several home jobs through the internet and all of them either turned out to be a SCAM, or it paid a very little amount of money. I have wasted time and money on these scams, and I just wanted to know if there is ANY LEGITIMATE home jobs out there where you can actually make some real MONEY?? About 2 months ago my husband got written up because F&^% was in an email, well he got another email from someone else today and it had SH*T in it. Question is, does the email security get the email right away once it was opened? He deleted the email right away, but he needs to know if he should tell his boss about this now...or if he will be off the hook. Thanks in advance.

When I tried to copy them back to the hard disk of the CDs gave me the following error Data error ( Cyclic Redundancy Check )
I tried cleaning the CDs with water and dishwashing soap but got the same error even tried copying them to another computer same thing so what to do?
