my local area network speed says that it's 100mbps, but my download speed is around 170kbps. that can't be right, right? so how do i get the full thing? thanks to all who help

If you have say 1.2 MB and I multiply by 1024 the ansew is 1228.8 KB which is 1258291.2 bytes. While this is theoritically possible, are there any conventions in rounding or technical definitions to get the actuall answer.

My office computer runs really slow and i was thinking of doing a defrag and running c cleaner as i do on my home computer but our computers are connected to a server so if i was to do these would they clean up my computer or would they clean up the server cause if its the server i wont do it and if thats the case has anyone got any suggestions on how to make my computer run more efficiantly

They would need to be fairly basic.
The computer works for 10 or 15 minutes then 'freezes'.

It acts like it is performing system restore, but then a message comes up that says "Restoration Incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored to (date). No changes have been made to your computer." My system restore is NOT turned off. Microsoft claims I have no viruses or spy/adware causing this. No matter what date I pick, it still does this. HELP!!!!!

The only reason why I can't open any files is because I deleted a certain program that was able to work on a file extention. But the only way to fix it is to just right-click the file that I want to open, and choose the appropriate program from the Open With choices.

Now, I admit it. I'm pretty slow, so I don't know what all this right-click/open with stuff. So, where exactly do I right-click on a file? the file won't even open. and where is the Open With thing? Help me? Please? I don't understand how I have to fix this in order for it to open my files like it used to.

Ok im wondering if my family should get a mac of a pc I kinda like the pc's but with all the virus and all but on the other hand with macs you dont have that many viruses and the interface looks cool and it dosent look to hard to work, pc's you have ta dig into the apps and all. The really cool thing about the macintosh is that you can run windows on a mac but you have to buy the software, and you have to partion the drives. thats the only downer about tat

Why has my alphabetical list of things I've previously searched for disappeared ? This is the same for Yahoo and Youtube. How can I change settings to save searches ( i don't know why they've disappeared when they've been saved for last 5 months) and is there any way I can get my searches back ?

I made a seven minute movie, edited on iMovie. I'm entering the disc in an amateur competition, and the movie needs to play right off the disc.

Now the thing is over seven gigs, and I can't burn it to a disc. There's no DVD burner. I guess I need to shrink the file size, but I don't know.

4sum reasn my laptop crashd 1day n now it always asks me 4 de d8 n tym on boot since den. I kno its possible 2 change de settings bcoz its 2nd hand n was ma m8s (buh he's not alyv ne mre) n he got it sorted when he had it. & also, de main power source is always on AC. it reads de battery but doeznt use it as de power source. its stuk on 97% from de last use n its nt bein usd or charged. but de little lytbulb 4 de battery lyts up still?!?! My m8 also had dis problem n he got it resolvd sum how. CAN SUM1 PLZ PLZ HLP ME OUT?!?!?
