XP is the wrong answer.. it's NT.

95 was the start of a certain line of Windows operating systems all based on the same kernel, which ended with ME.

The progression was:
95 -> 98 -> 98 SE -> ME

Similarly, Vista is based on the NT kernel, whose progression goes like:

NT -> 2000 -> XP -> (insert 2003 here if you like) -> Vista

Windows 95/98/ME are all very similar products along the same core code. Windows Vista however is a rewrite so it really doesn't have a comparison except a little at feature level.

Windows XP! I win! lol

Vista is horrible though. I don't think its fare to compare to windows ME. That wasn't that bad. Well yea it was, but at least it didn't take 7 years to make. And at least we had XP to save us within a year or two. We have nothing to save us, cept Linux.
