when I type a paper with a certain format it looks fine while on the screen but, when i go to print it out the format changes. I can't get it to print the way it looks on screen .

It should print as it appears on your screen. Try reinstalling the printer drivers. Maybe something happened out in the blue nowhere to glitch your printer. I don't think it is your computer. Printer drivers are usually on a CD with the printer or you can go on-line to the printer manufacturer to download it on the Internet. Worth a try.

You may need a "true type" font.
The computer may show say, "Arial 12" one way,
but the printer may be substituting something else.
You may need to discover a common font and size that your word processor and printer agree on.
If the font is OK, it may be a disagreement on where the margins can be.
