i've a problem in one of my two hard disks wich make one of the partions not opening and i got error massege tells me that "the disk drive is not formatted do you want to format it" and i've very important data in this drive so i want to save the data and avoid the data loss before i formate the partion and idon't no how to do that please help me cause there are very important files in that partion

at the top where you type in the URL well mine doesnt have that and it used to but now it doesnt.... whenveer i type in a URL like yahoo search or google comes up with the url i typed in....i dont like that and how can i have more than one tab without yahoo? my laptop is a IBM thinkpad if you needed to know

I had my first computer at 11yo. I think this next generation needs computer skills at an early age, although I'm not sure at what age a kid can be trusted to take care of $500 equipment. I bought mine with my own money back when you hooked it up to a TV, so it was only $300 (remember the Atari 800 XL and Vic 20?). Now computers are more expensive. I really feel like getting started early helped me with my career today. I don't think my nephew is allowed to spend enough time at the computer, so I think he needs his own. At what age can a kid take care of a $500 computer?

I have Vonage for my phone service, which is over the internet. I have a Brother fax now and Brother told me it wasn't compatible with Vonage because of the internet phone service. I am a property appraiser so it needs to be able to send and recieve legal size faxes. I recieved alot of faxes with alot of pages, sometimes the contracts they send are 10 to 20 pages at one time.

$1300 for everything including monitor, keyboard, etc...

Ok, I have a hum coming from my speakers, you already know that :) this is a low frequency hum, and the volume of it depends on the volume of the radio (have it hooked up to the input jack on the radio) and the master volume, I think it could be a sound card problem because when I disconnect the input the radio works fine. I have used the Windows Sound Troubleshooter and it was no help. Could this be a sound card issue (Sis 7018 Wave), a problem with the input cord, or what? and is the problem easily fixable?

A friend of mine keeps insisting he gets 100MB/sec. with Qwest DSL service here in Phoenix, at $25 a month. I have Cox cable modem service and the maximum that is available is supposed to be 12MB/sec, at $60 a month. I asked Cox, and they tell me that 100MB/sec. speed isn't even possible currently, but my neighbor shows me this report on his PC that shows 100MB in one second, and he says downloads are really really fast. I'm not an expert on this -- nor a total novice -- so does anybody know the real stats?

I need a new computer. This computer isn't mine, it is my mom's!! I only have 200 dollars. Is there a good place other than ebay (or any place like it) that I could get a GREAT deal on a computer. Ok I have a PC computer it's a Windows XP but its always messing up. Like for example just a minute ago for no reason at all when I opened up the internet it just didn't fully load the page and started not responding so I tried to open up the windows task manager but that wouldn't open so eventually I had to just unplug my computer. This happens to me at least 2 times a week. Also the programs take forever to open. I have really good expensive virus protection on my computer and very little of the memory is being used. My other 2 PCs are just as bad as this one. But on my friends macs they go very fast and are much better then my PC. So is something wrong with all 3 of my computers or is this just normal for PCs?

A website I frequent has a sound clip that plays, and I really enjoy it and would like to make an MP3 of it. So what I'm wondering is this: is there some way I could record this audio clip and make an MP3 from it? Is there some kind of free download program I could find on the internet that I could do this with? I'm using a Macintosh.

I have a foster child. And recently noticed that on my computer he has been visiting gay porn sites. I'm so frustrated with him right now. I wanted to take my computer to ggek squad to add a gaming card to it and some memory but I'm afraid that they will see those sickening images and videos and I will get in trouble for his wrong doings.
Even if you could tell me how to get rid of them that would be great also.
