I can go into my documents and open like a song from the folder and then itunes will open, but when I double click on ANYTHING on my desktop or start menu it just acts like I haven't done anything. Nothing will open, and this is about to be a problem for school, because I will need to use Word and video prgrams. Can anyone help me. I think it may have happened when I was doing something in the "cmd" i found something that said you could hack into a myspace profile and I wanted to see if it worked on my profile, and my computer has been messed up ever since..PLEASE HELP!

I recently aquired a old windows 98 computer system with 256 megs of ram and I wanted to know how far I could upgrade it. I wanted to put windows xp or 2000 on it and I cant seem to find a place where I can change the dial up setting to broadband. If anyone could help me I would be grateful.

Can anybody tell me, is Vista as full of bugs that will crash your system all the time as I've been hearing? I really need to buy a new computer, but I've been putting it off because I've been hearing all of the horrible things about Vista. I love XP, its worked out great for me, and I thought of downgrading to XP from Vista, but I don't want to if I don't have to. If someone who is knowledgable about computers could fill me in, I would greatly appreciate it. Please don't waste my time with crap answers just to get points.

I have a picture thats 449kb and to upload it onto bebo skins it needs to be 40kb. Does anyone know how to reduce the file size without resizing the picture as bebo only allows this size. Also it's an animated gif so that makes it more complicated. Please help

I'm using windows vista business on my lenovo laptop and its been working ok for two months now. A few days ago, my laptop couldn't play music. the volume icon read that the audio service was not enabled. Furthermore, I cannot turn on my firewall and my bluetooth icon and anything related to bluetooth has disappeared. Help!

I found out a while ago Vista overwrites the bootloader of XP to create the dualboot system. Instead of reinstalling everything I'm used to using tools like Norton Ghost & Acronis to recover from DVD images.

In a hypothetical situation: if I were to put back an Image of Windows XP by Norton or Acronis, would it be able to put back my MBR as well??

I really want to be able to backup and recover the Master Boot Record. Any information on other options also very much appreciated.

Alright, I've got Comcast High-Speed internet. It used to be extremely fast, and I was very happy with how it was working. Then, all of a sudden, for no apparent reason, it become very, very slow, disconnected frequently, and was all around a hassle.

On top of not being able to surf the net without slamming my head off my desk, I'm having even more trouble when I try to play the MMORPG, World of Warcraft. My latency is almost always 1000-3000., I have awful lag constantly, and every 10 minutes or so, I disconnect.

This has caused me some distress, as I can barely level now, and PvP is completely out of the question. So now, I'm paying $15/month for this game, and I'm not getting the full experience.

If anybody could help, and guess at whats going on, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

(Also, my TV and computer share the same line, if that has anything to do with it.)

Hey, I have a website and I wanna have streaming music, the jukebox I am gonna use is flash and xml and the music's location will not be disclosed and all of the music I have copied of a cd...so is it illegal or are there ways to make it legal?
