you know i burn cds all the time and i was wondering if there are CDs that have a longer time to burn on, could you tell me the name and where i could get it. Re-writable would be great too. thanks!

Okay so I know I already asked this question before but now that I made a "dvd image" of it on nero it won't let me burn that onto a dvd using nero! Help me please! Oh yeah also I have a dvd drive that can burn dvds and I'm using windows xp :)

Hello... whats happened is that when i log on to my computer,soon as it comes on to the desktop it freezes, the mouse moves but start clicking at it freezes completly but i cant click on anything at all so i cant find out whats wrong or to sort it out, i went on it yesterday and this registy thing came up but i didnt really take notice what it was and just pressed ok and my computer came on and soon as i saw the internet on my computer werent workin i turned it off without letting it load so i didnt think much of it at the time and when i started the computer again its just stopped working.... ive tried putting in the windows cd but my cd/dvd drive doesnt work and will only read dvd's now.. im really stuck on what to do now. thanks in advance if u can help

I am quasi-comp literate, my buddy just got a toshiba laptop w/ Vista & a TON of bundleware. SO I am charged with the task of streamlining it. But I'm totally confused. Can anyone point me to a tweaking site for Vista? Also recommend what to do - I can't find how to remove unwanted software since what was "add/remove" is now only "add"! Also a list of boot up services & task manager process(for Vista) would be good.

My computer was infected two times by this virus. It made the bluescreen whenever I connected to the internet. I think I got it from Shareaza, now I deleted it, but I don't know it 100% that what could caused it. If you know the name of the virus and the program that can (firewall software etc.) prevent or get rid of it please tell me.

Hello.At 53,I'm not doing bad with computers.I can send small files by email and know they'll come out. This is something much harder and I don't know how to do it.I need to photocopy a 20 page report onto my computer and send it as one lot to the recipient for reading. How can I scan this 20 page document into my computer and just make it one long file please? Every time I try to do a second page,I have to create a seperate file into which to put it. I'm sure there's a way to do this but I simply don't have the experience of doing multi-page documents! Can you please help this old duffer and explain to me in simple non-technical terms how it can be done? I thank you very much in advance for all your very kind help! Alan L.

Ok, I had this file which i had saved to my Flash Drive as I needed to work on it on another computer. I plugged the flash drive in a said Send To>My Documents. I then took out the flash drive and started working on the file in My Docs. I had it perfect, so I saved it and turned off my computer. Then I just turned on my computer, opened My Documents and it is gone! I have searched everywhere. In the Recycle Bin, used the search setting, looked in like a million files, but is has just disappeared. Unfortuantly I don't have System Restore enabled either. Please someone needs to help me! Is there any other way to find a file that has literally disappeared?

I had tracked an IP address from a threatening email that I had recieved to a Cox Communications host that was in San Mateo, CA at one point, and than an hour later it was showing it in Eureka, CA which as some know are not close cities. Now my only confusion is that Cox does not provide any wireless services that I know of. I have figured out that this place might be a business, and most businesses run off of servers that should not travel via satellite. Why would a business server hit one satellite, and than another so far away in such little time? Please help, as I am very confused and would like to rest easy. Thanks =]

I synchronized my mail account with Outlook Express. Now if I open Outlook express, I can receive e-mails, but I can’t send. Always a message appears says “Failed to connect my server account”. Even I did the synchronization twice, manually and automatically and filled all the information needed, but still same problem. Anyhow one can help?

Hi. Im using Windows XP (home edition) and Im doing a computer assignment for school atm and one of the tasks is to move a file without having to 'drag it' to a desired location OR cutting/copying and pasting it to the desired location.

I went to 'Help and support' option on the Start button and this is what it says:
1. Click the file or folder you want to move.
2. Under File and Folder Tasks, click Move this file or Move this folder.
3. In Move Items, click the new location for the file or folder, and then click Move.

Where is the File and Folder tasks button? Do i right click my mouse while dragging?
Can someone pls tell me in simple terms how i would move a file. Thanks:)

My computer is acting real crazy. Just a while ago, probably 2 days ago it started acting all weird and there were a lot of system errors. and then suddenly a blue screen flashed on and it was a stop-something screen. and it told me if i saw it for the first time then restart. and then some other stuff. Today it flashed on that screen, i restarted my computer and there was a disk check. My computer started up again, and again the blue screen flashed. i didnt know wat to do so i restarted it again and there was another disk check. i got scared so i started cleaning everything outta my computer..but i didnt use that much space. only 16 gig used...and then i updated my computer and everything...now its okay..but should i be worried? weird..today is the day i got the computer for a year. so after today its been a full year since i had the computer..and this happens..how gay...

I have a Windows XP laptop and recently had to reboot it all over again because of a virus. Before this happened, I use to play the Desperate Housewives PC game with no problem but now it says I need 63 MB of Video Memory and that I only have 3 MB and I need Video Acceleration (Accel) which it says I don't have. I have no clue what to do, even when I click to read for more information. Can someone help me?

Trying to access (http://lessons.trinitysem.edu) Running Vista IE7, Works fine with XP and 2K, I have come to the conclusion it is Vista itself and not IE7, but can someone try it. I have almost tried everything.

I have no idea what could have caused this, but the most likely thing is software or hardware corruption. Every time i start it up, the blue screen keeps appearing. I try to start the computer in safe mode, last know working configeration, but it fails too.

On the blue screen it says: "Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer"

I did install some anti-virus software last week, but i dont know what are "disk defragmentation or backup utilities." My mom replaced the RAM last month but i dont know about "hard drive configuration and check for any updated drivers." When it says "Run CHKDSK /F" how do you do that?

I really want to fix this problem. Its the main computer in my house. I dont know much about computers either. Please help.
Explain so i may understand.
