What do ya'll think sbout having a computer in your room? do you think it's good or bad?

Im not familiar at all with how filesystems work. My computer is currently running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition but I want to install Ubuntu Linux and set up a dual-boot system. I was wondering if I will be able to select the filesystem of my choice when I partition the hardrive for the new operating system. If not, is there a way I can use FAT32 instead of NTFS?

Okay, I was trying to install a printer, and I found a cleaner, to clean unessecary files. I deleted some computer files I guess. Internet Explorer wont work, neither does system restore. So, I have an Windows Xp Home cd, and my computer right now is running on a NON genuine windows xp pro. So, I searched some stuff, and it said, i canonly downgrade to home IF I got a Windows Xp Pro in my Add/Remove programs. I have one, and people are saying that is becuase it was an older version before, and it CAN be upgraded to Home.So, should I do this?? I have 128 ram, so im thnking that home would be faster than pro becuase pro has got more services than home. Am I correct? should I do this? Thanks for your help.

Ive seen lots of listings where they have additional pictures where the discription is really supposed to be. Ive tried adding pictures to photobucket, but that doesnt work.

How do they add pictures withouth paying for them?!

I've had a rapidly increasing stream of traffic to my site and would like to set up a sort of mirror site so that if the main site was down for whatever reason--maintenance, hackers, whatever--traffic would be directed to the mirror site. I've heard about setting up mirror sites before, but I'm not too sure what would be needed to redirect traffic to the mirror site if the main site was down. Would there be some kind of notation in my IP address for my primary domain, JesusFreak.com, for traffic to be redirected to, say, JesusFreak.net, if the server for JesusFreak.com was down? How exactly does this work with mirror sites, and what would it take to set one up?

I feel like an idiot, but I have no clue how to past a web site URL in an email so that a friend can go directly to the exact page I need them to see, not just the website.

For example, if I wanted to go to www.petco.com but wanted them to be able to link to the long URL that appears in the address bar on pet carriers, how do I do that? If you are lauging and wondering how I have survived this long, well, I've never had a need to do it and normally, I'd just say go to www.petco.com and do a search on their site for pet carriers.

I'd like to knopw how to do it the correct way. Please explain as if I am ignorant, as I truly am w/ some computer things. I really only use it to do fantastic things w/ photos and eBay. LOL THANKS

Don't know whether it is a temporary gliche in the system. We are with AOL. Since last night the font size on the AOL homepage, plus any searches and even other web pages like YA - the font has become very small for no reason. I don't think i've done anything but my girl was playing with the keyboard. How do I get the font size back to normal. Thanks.

I've deleted large files, gotten rid of unnecessary programs, and even used two different spyware/virus/trojan/etc. detection programs. Nothing. It's actually become SLOWER. Any advice? I have Windows XP.

When I download digital sheet music, it always presents as a GIF file(well, that's what it was originally). But I was told that GIF files take up a lot of space, so is it all right for me to save the sheet music as a JPEG or a JPG? will it damage the original contents?

pros and cons of JPEG/JPG(what's the difference???) and GIF pictures? I never really understood it.

im thinkin about buying a Liquid cooling system for my quad core pc. i dont know 2 much about hardware and **** so.. thats why im here =P. this is the one im thinking about buying http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1904129&CatId=499, my questions are.
