I am searching for work and sending out resumes. What does someone mean when they asked to send it in word format. I guess they can not open my resume so what do I need to do. Sorry this may seem a simple thing, but I am clueless.

I accedently downloaded Zwinky, and now i can't get rid of them! escpecialy the toolbar. I went to the Add or Remove Programs, but it doesn't show up there! and i tried right-click but that didn't do any good. HELP!!! i don't want Zwinky!!!

I know I need to reformat but I read somewhere that just reformating may not completely clean up the comp. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good wipe program I should use first. I checked out wipe drive by White Canyon but it seems many ppl are haveing trouble reinstalling windows xp. My comp. wont allow any virus clean up system to run it reboots them all, tried avg, lavasoft, sysweeper, nortons and AOL. they all get rebooted before complete even in safemode. HELP!

I am a college student who is very interested in Macintosh. I am so interested in MacBook Pro and I hope anybody can kindly answer my questions and give your opinion about both OS. Questions;

1. Honestly, are there any problems related to Macintosh OS X n the computer so far?
2. Comparing Windows and Macintosh, which one would be the better choice for a college student?
3. If I use Microsoft Office for Mac to do my assignment, can I share it with my friends who use Microsoft Office for Windows? Will there be any compatibility problems such as if I do tables in Words in Mac and then when I open it with Words will it be the same (the arrangement especially)?

I really hope anybody can help me to answer all these questions because it will help me in choosing the best computer for myself.

I have installed new fonts by copying the zipped files to the Fonts Folder since the "install new font" option is gone. But when I open MS word, (even after restarting my computer) the fonts were not listed in the font box.

I have tried installing other fonts from other sites but nothing registers on the font box.

My operating system is Windows XP Professional.

I have a mouse with a middle scroll wheel that I always use instead of scrolling down with the cursor. All of a sudden, it stopped working, and it won't make the clicking noise like it used to--like it was grabbing something...now it's just a smooth, noiseless process and the screen won't move as I move the scroll button up and down. It only works if I click the scroll button, then a dot with an up or down arrow appears, and I have to move the mouse, not the scroll button. I don't like this! Is there a way to fix this so that the "clicking" noise comes back and I can just move the scroll button, or do I just need to buy a new one? Why did it stop working?

i think i might have had my upload speed capped im on optimum online..what happens is when i test my speed from a server far from me it is like 400kbps to 900 barely gets that high but when i test it from a ny server which is where i live its in good range but one this one site that just tests it its no where near normal for my connection and ive always tested frequently so i know what is normal for me..but the reason that makes me believe my upload has been capped ive never had those results before plus me and my other computer get disconnected alot from online all the sudden when it happens the modem resets..we just replaced the modem cause cable told us it was our old modem..what im asking is if we were capped if we are using alot of the upload bandwidth can it result in what is happening to us with getting disconnected and the modem resetting

On the home pc my dad has a email which he uses for business which is a fsnet.co.uk email. He accesses it through outlook express. On saturday he is going away for a fortnight and will not be able to access the home computer. if he puts the same pop3 settings into outlook express on a laptop will it receive his emails as the internet connection wilnot be the home connection his email is linked to? also is there any way of transfering a outlook express inbox from one computer to another? without forwarding every email. thanks
