I am looking for an affordable, cheap laptop computer. I am a teen having to buy my own computer. Any suggestions for good models that wont burst my wallet?

Your best bet is to check out HP, Dell or Toshiba. You can get decent systems in these models for well under $500. Consider also that you can buy state of the art Desktop models for less than $300 so if you can get away with a Desktop instead of a laptop, you might consider that.
In the end, as long as your computer doesn't have an Apple picture on it, you've managed to save money and obtain a degree of performance.
