What is faster kilobytes or Megabytes?.
If the ISP is providing 1.5Mbs and the two little monitors on the task bar read speed: 100.0 Mbps

Am I getting what I'm being invoiced?

First, kilo = roughly 1000 (1024 to be exact), while mega = roughly 1,000,000 (1024*1024), so megabytes are bigger than kilobytes. (It's really kilobytes/second and megabytes/second here.)

Second, whatever speed you've been sold is an ideal you'll rarely, if ever, reach. It assumes perfect transmission (no retransmissions because of errors) and no delays because the computer at the ISP is bogged down.

Third, I don't think that 100.0 Mpbs is even what the ISP promises. It's what the Ethernet specification is rated at.

Smallest to biggest---

What the 100 Mbps means is that your adapter is capable of reciving 100. Mbps.

At 1.5mbps your download speeds should be at about 170kb/s max.
