How can I record an audio clip on my Mac?

A website I frequent has a sound clip that plays, and I really enjoy it and would like to make an MP3 of it. So what I'm wondering is this: is there some way I could record this audio clip and make an MP3 from it? Is there some kind of free download program I could find on the internet that I could do this with? I'm using a Macintosh.

Try Audacity, it's on the Apple download site and it's free.
