Which is the better way to unplug a USB drive from the PC:

1. Right-click on the removable drive and select "EJECT"
2. Open the "SAFELY REMOVE HARDWARE" icon from system tray and follow the instructions in the dialog that ensues.

Any advise folks?

Thanks,
Arvind.

My computer is now starting up quite fast after I fixed it. Now there's another problem. Everytime I click on a program after the computer loads it takes ages for it to pop up. I believe it took one over 2 minutes to pop up, which is very unusual. I don't know what's wrong. Is there some kind of setting I can tweak in order for the process not to be so delayed? Any help would be very much appreciated thank you!

It's meant to look like one of those windows boxes from windows but it says stiuff like, did you know your computers at risk and stuff and when i click the cross it opens a website and it keeps coming up.

Also when I turn on the computer (we have broadband so net is always on) a little information bubble will pop up saying 'This Advertisement delivered by Uptown Engine' then a website will open up automatically at it's usually some sort of gabling site or something I don't want to enter etc. but I don't know how to stop either coming up.
I've done a Virus scan and all is clear.
I recently downloaded Zwinky and if that is the problem I can't find it on the Delete Programs menu so what do I do?
Please can someone help me :)

I work for a large corporation. The Windows XP computer I use at work is locked down with restricted access such that I cannot access the C: drive, change the wallpaper, etc... I can access the A:, however, for larger files and for speed, I would prefer to use my USB flash drive. The drive doesn't show up when it is plugged in. Anyone know of a way I can get to it?

I have a 1 year old laptop (hp). Recently it has started to run slow, especially when I'm online. Internet Explorer freezes quite frequently. What bothers me the most, though, is that every hour or so the screen will go blank for a few seconds. I don't think it's the screen itself because sometimes a window will stay up while the background goes blank, while other times the whole thing goes blank. Even now it keeps pausing while I type! I've scanned for viruses, spyware, mulware, grayware, etc.. Any ideas???
