It's meant to look like one of those windows boxes from windows but it says stiuff like, did you know your computers at risk and stuff and when i click the cross it opens a website and it keeps coming up.

Also when I turn on the computer (we have broadband so net is always on) a little information bubble will pop up saying 'This Advertisement delivered by Uptown Engine' then a website will open up automatically at it's usually some sort of gabling site or something I don't want to enter etc. but I don't know how to stop either coming up.
I've done a Virus scan and all is clear.
I recently downloaded Zwinky and if that is the problem I can't find it on the Delete Programs menu so what do I do?
Please can someone help me :)

Your system has been infected with spyware/malware. You can download free spyware/adware software from any of the following links. I sugges you download at least two and run one after the other. The reason for this is that one might pick up an infection that they other one might not.

This is sure to solve your problem. Also, you should install a toolbar that has pop up blocker such as yahoo, google or windows live toolbars.

I had a similar problem.
If scanning with an anti-spyware program doesn't help, try the following: copy exactly the message that your computer displays in google and give it a search. You will find that other people had the same problem and specialists have guided them to resolve step by step the problem (on different forums).
This is how I removed my spyware and add-ware, because there are many steps.

You need to install a pop up blocker - go to Google.com and download the toolbar - it comes with a pop up blocker and does filter 'em out pretty well.
