get this one its great ffdshow try and google it someone on here giveit to me i use it good luck

for a decoder (codec) go to google and look for K-LITE codec pack and download the full pack and install, then you should be able to view nearly all formats of film

Video Lan is good software you could also try the free divX player from the divX web site.
Dont bother with the commercial pay for version.

go to gomplayer.com/main.html download gomplayer when you open gomplayer it will take you to the website to get the mpeg2 codec you need.
i tried using k-lite it works but after installing i had email problems.(spyware)
gomplayer looks good too!!!
