I went to save a short cut from a web site to my wallpaper and I must have hit something else bc I now have this BIG lettering on the back drop of my wallpaper of the name of the site and I can't get it off my computer back to a NORMAL wallpaper,,,,,,,, please help I'm not computer savvy

I just bought a PC game..Medal of Honor Pacific Assault.

Once i installed it, i clicked play, and this thing popped up and it says...

Medal of Honor requires a video card that fully supports
DirectX 8.1. The video card in this system does not fully support DirectX 8.1

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?? Can i download something so it can work?

Ok, here is the deal. I bought three new HP DV 9000 series Laptop's, dual hard drives, 2mb Ram, bla, bla, bla. One of them randomly will not start, (no hard drive noise at all and a completely black screen)

I did use "Your Uninstaller" to get rid of HP crapware already installed, but I also did this on the other computers as well, I also updated the bios on all the computer as the HP site said there was a specific hibernation wake up problem with the original bios.

Sometimes if I hit f11 when starting it will go to the recover partition and I can get a startup, but recently this has not even worked.

I practically exhausted all my skills when I did the bios thing, clearly the force is not strong with me. Next I am going to try staring at it really hard while simultaneously typing insults on it's keys, you know " your mother was a commodore 64" and stuff like that, but if doesn't work I will need one of you fine people to throw your skills on me.

hi, i have a pc with cd/dvd writer combo and it has stopped recognising edvds. Cds and games will still play but no joy with dvds. i have tried removing the drive in device manager to reinstall and still no luck and also downloaded some software to give me a new decoder but it still isnt working. Any ideas

My computer has suddenly become very slow. I've tried searching if there was any spyware on my computer with a program and something called Trojan horse came up but it said I had to pay for them to delete it. So I downloaded a new spyware program called Ad Aware Se Personal and it found 36 problems(dont think Trojan horse came up though) and fixed them. And I did a virus scan with AVG virus scan and nothing came up. I also defragmented all my hardrives and I don't have much downloaded on my program either so I'm reallly lost what could be the problem.

If anyone can help me I'd be really grateful

I want to build a server from scratch. I will get any parts needed.

I have been told a server computer has pretty much the same hardware as a regular computer, but it is the software that is different. I am looking for step by step instructions, but searching for it didn't help. Any reference(s) will be appreciated. Thanks. :-)
