I had the same problem. Ok, if you keep getting pop-ups saying to buy a program that will protect your computer, DON'T, that's identify theft. What I did was Re-Installing Windows on my PC that deletes everything in your computer and makes a new copy of windows in it. But I don't think you need to do that. Follow these steps. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > Now pick a date before your computer started working probably. One the restoring is done, it will delete anything that was installed or added to the computer after that date that your chose. If this doesn't work, go to Microsoft.com; download the 90-day free trial One Care. Scan your computer. This program won't require you to pay any money or enter your credit card info. Till the 90 days is over. Remember Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware are like a doctor to the PC's, not having them up to date and active in your PC could cost you.
WARNING: Downloading multiple softewares on your PC only to solve this issue could bring in more unwanted items.
I am a computer technical, if you need any other help, email me at jamed2catch@yahoo.com . I get so many junk mails, so please make your subject is in capital letters so i won't miss it.

Couple of things to try...
1.How many icons do you have on your desktop-if you have too many this can slow your pc down
2.get rid of screensavers and wallpapers as they can affect performance-and never download free smilies and ringtones they usually come with problems!
3.Clean up your disk space of temporary files and anything still in your trash folder.
4.never download anything when prompted to do so unless you have a bona fide anti virus system set up.Personally I think you may have actually invited a problem by doing this.Get a specialist in to look at your lap top as soon as you can!

Working with a slow computer can be time consuming as programs/ applications take a long time to start. This problem is more pronounced in computers which have been used for 6 or more months. More information at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html

another thing you can try is disk cleanup since you could have cookies and the like on there that you are not aware of. If you go to house trend micro and get the free scan there, it will also find any cookies that are on your computer and that may help you as well. I am not certain of the url but if you search on it you will find it.

Have you cleared your Temp and History files? That may work.
I'm concerned about the Trojan horse...it could be hiding behind something which will require taking it in for servicing.
Good luck.

A2 squared free is good, and so is spy bot 1.4, both have to be updated. also delete that other program you tryed, its crap ware.
look for these programs at majorgeeks .com also right click yourtask bar bring task manager to see if anything is running you should know about. scum ware comes in piggy backed to other software that is downloaded.

what about disk cleanup, and have you tried restarting your computer, also, have you tried ending some of the programs by clicking on ctrl, alt, delete? then the task manager pops up, click on processes, and then end any process that is in your computers name.
