Is Yahoo answers becoming a search engine with friendly feedback? There seems to be a stack of questions starting 'Does anyone know a good website for....?' and a load of responses with weblinks that most have found by simply searching using Yahoo or Google. Am I right or am I being a miserable cynic?

It brings up the first page with the screen shot of mountains and the hand logo, but when I hit connect it says could not connect to server, unable to resolve domain name - it gives me a domain name (i'm not putting that on here in case people can hack into my computer or something) and says check network connection - my connections fine or I wouldn't be on here in another window surely? I have registered and seem to have all the requirements - not sure about a graphics card, but as I'm seeing the first page, imagine I have the correct capabilities...

Can anyone help - this is driving me crazy, I just want to see what all the second life fuss is about!!!!

I'm using Win 98. When I click on a webpage contact eddress, it lanches Outlook, Eudora or Hotmail and I have to wait for this, then cut & paste the To address into my yahoo mail to send the email I want to send from my account. Tools/Internet Options/Programs doesn't let me enter another program such as yahoo - it restricts me to keying in OE, Eudora, or Hotmail. Does anyone know a way around this or have a link to a fix for this?

Aparently this promotion is legitimate, it's been featured in Wired Magazine and The Guardian paper, but it seems too good to be true.
Has anyone here received a free computer from these people?

OK, I can see here that if one uses the number lock one can move around a bit using the keyboard, but what are some finer points?
I know this is probably a stupid question, but, I'm technologically retarded, thanks.

go to start--> control panel--> network and internet connections--> network connections, then click the connection you are using, choose properties, and choose advanced, then check the box next to where it says "allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection"
Then open a command prompt and type "ipconfig", then go down to where you see "IP Address........and tell me what number you see on the other end of the ".........." 9translation: tell me what your IP address is). Just tell me when you answer this question.

I need to make a disc containing mixed content of DVD video and CD tracks. The CD tracks should be accessible on a stand alone CD player, while the same disc inserted into a DVD player (not in a computer) should play the video files as usual. Is it doable?

Thanks in advance,

Jack

To resolve the issue, use one of the following methods: • Insert a removable disk in the removable drive before you start the computer.
• Change the drive letter assignment for the removable drive to a letter other than C.

To change the drive letter assignments in Windows XP, follow these steps: 1. Log on to the computer as Administrator.
2. Insert a disk in the removable drive.
3. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.
4. Click Disk Management.
5. Right-click the partition, logical drive, or volume that you want to change, and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
6. Click the removable drive, click it, click Change, click the drive letter that you want to use, and then click OK.

+++++++
My hard drive is already assigned to "C". What disk are they taking about. It boots up ok, but I have to cancel this message numerous times before it closes.
