I used to watch videos and movies using Media Player but my friend lended me the DVD player Cd where I installed the "DVD Player". I realized that this progam was rubish because it couldn't read some videos so I uninstalled it. After I uninstalled it, I could use the Window Media Player and I can't watch any videos! I Disfragmented my PC to put things in order to see if it could open but it is useless. Can somebode help me please? I will give best answer to anyone who can make it work.

Dude try this, right click on the video you previously used to watch in window media player, then go to "open with" option, then "choose program". there check the box"Always use the selected program" and click window media player and press OK.

The best to fix your pc is (if you are using Windows XP and your System Restore is on) to use System Restore feature of Win XP. Go to Start then Accessories then System Tools then System Restore. In system restore select the restore date that is the date before you installed the DVD Player program. Windows XP automatically set a restore point when you install a new program ( because of the reality that some program might cause problems ). After restoration your Media Player will back into action again.

Note that all other programs that you installed after you installed the DVD program will also be removed.

hope this helps

Did you uninstall this dvd player from the add/remove applet? the program may have mess up all the codes on your pc. Hard to tell from your description but you may want to reinstall Window media player again to restores all the missing codecs. Here's the link to download the newest WMP.
