I dunno, but you can use Firefox without having to dread it closing down every time you have just logged in! You can get Firefox 2.0 from http://www.mozilla.com/ .
Firefox will ask you to make it your default browser, but never do that. You MUST keep IE as your default browser.

I dont know but it happens to me to.It started as soon as I updated it to internet explorer 7.

you may be infected by a virus..
some viruses have the capability of closing antivirus applications or internet browsers once that virus have infected your computer..
try scanning for possible viruses and/or threats..
download the lastest antivirus programs..Ã

Restart your machine and try again.

yes it happens if you are using IE7. even i had the same problems with IE7. now i changed back to the older version.
you can also try mozilla fire fox...
