Exactly... you'd need a wireless router. Both your pc's will connect to the router for internet access.

Just understand that if both pc's are being used at the same time, the speed of your connection is split between the two. You might not be able to download or browse as fast as you are used to with using only one pc.

As already said use a router. You need to get the right one, depending on if you're on cable broadband or broadband through your phoneline. You can get wired ones from about £10 or get wireless ones (will need to have wireless cards in your computer to use them) for not much more. All you do is connect them either by ethernet cable or wirelessly to the router and whack a cable from the modem to the router and bongo the connection is shared.

Hello. Your problem is very common. I suggest u to not going through the router becasue it will split ur speed and u will come up with the other problem.

So there is an easy step to go throgh. Use an internet adaptor. You will able to use it withoug sharing the speed at the same time. Just go to Help and support center of ur windows XP. then click to whats new and then go to Home networking read the article u will know it through samples and examples given there. Believe me dont purchase the router. Just read the thing what I have said and follow the instruction. Good Luck.

Yes, it might not even be necessary to use a router if its just 2 computers. Just establish a network between the two of them, and set one to be the gateway for the internet connection.

However that can get quite complicated, the solution with using a router is simpler. I suggest you get a linksys router if you are planning on it, theyre pretty good.

Yes, you can and you dont need a router either.

Get an ethernet switch - they are cheaper and less
troublesome than a router.

Am presently running 3 computers on it - my brand is
SOHO Switch.
