My hard drive is already assigned to "C". What disk are they taking about. It boots up ok, but I have to cancel this message numerous times before it closes.

do you have a floppy? Chances are a program was installed from floppy or a removable hard drive that requires the system to know where it originated from If you remember the last piece of software you installed from a floppy or removeable hard drive, locate it and try reinstalling from source, leaving the source attached the next time you boot and see if the message goes away. if it does, then there's your problem.
