i was told that there is a massive virus running around myspace and that i might not want to log in. is this true? if it is, would it be dangerous to log in? i wasn't told much about it.

To buy a desktop computer right now that can run Vista well enough to run multiple applications without freezing etc. costs about $1,000. I know for sure because I have tested it and know people using it. That is outrageous. How long until computers will be cheap enough to run Vista fast enough at a decent price? For example when will a computer with a 2 GHz processer, 2 GB Memory(memory eater), 50 GB hard drive (atleast), 300 MB graphics memory (for the new Aero included in ever version but Basic Home) cost $500 new?

I have a dvd, and when I try to display the contents in windows explorer, there is nothing to show. I adjust the display setting, not to hide anything, and there is still nothing in explorer. Same result with command line in a dos window. I know there is file on this DVD( .vob files) because in another machine everything is ok, I see the content in explorer and the film is showing when I play it.
Any idea?

I have a Powerbook G5. I copied a VHS tape to a DVD-R; it plays fine on my Panosonic DVD player.

My laptop says the disk is empty. Did I miss a step when I recorded the DVD? Is it proprietary to Panasonic? I can't find any info on Apple site. Thanks for your help.

I have a hp Pavilion computer that has been upgraded to windows 98. but now I can't add anymore updates to it. It runs really slow . Should I try to upgrade it to another version of Windows or should I just get another computer?

If I get another computer what type should I get? I have only used Windows 98.

If this helps any I have a 14 year old and 18 year old that uses this computer alot for homework.

Please give me some input on this.

Certain emails go directly to the "deleted items" folder. There are no rules that prevent these emails from going through. No spam or spyware filters. No attachments on emails. Norton AV is turned off. 95% of new mail goes into inbox - no problem, the other 5% goes to the deleted folder with no user action.

It has never happened to me, and i'm not sure if i'm suposed to leave it there in the middle of the street, cause i'm pretty sure i won't be able to push it to the side by myself... what is one to do? I've read that if it looks like it's failing you should drive it to a shoulder, but what if i don't have enough time to make it over there?

I have a floppy with a doc on it i need but when i try to open it i get a message saying it is not in correct format and to click to reformat cancel or continue but it still won't open - word then disables the doc and shuts down - when i enable it again it still doesn;t open!! The doc is a txt doc in word any ideas???

I received an e-mail from a BLANK e-mail address. How can someone do that? the date on the e-mail keeps changing and the IP address only showed when I forwarded the message. Once the IP address was traced-the message dissapeared----how can i track who this is?

My laptop is only two years old but it runs soooooo slowly! according to the computer, it has 356~ meg of ram.

I'm not sure if I can increase my ram, and I'd rather not spend anyways.
so, does anyone know how I can make my computer run faster?
(also, do desktop icons use ram?)

i have 2 options on my pc for sound(see above) and in your opinion which is the better
both come with sound managers and both are reasonable quality sound
and also how come i can have both the nforce sound and also the realtek ac97 as i was led to belive they are both intergrated audio,the mobo i use is the abit nf7-s

When I receive emails in Spanish, sometimes I can't see the Spanish characters such as Ñs and accent marks. They change into some sort of weird symbols... and it's really disturbing! I don't know what is it, because half of the time I can read them fine. Help, please!!
