What is the best distro for Linux and where can I download it? How can I download a Linux OS? How do I dual boot a Windows XP and a Linux? How is Linux better?

I heard Linux is better for hacking. Is that White or Black hat specific or is it just hacking in general? Or is that fact totally wrong?

i downloaded this game from a torrent. i used power iso to install the game. it works that far. i got the serial # with it. but now when i try to play the game, it says "starcraft is unable to read a required file. Your starcraft Cd may not be in the CDROM drive ...(dur. I downloaded) .... Please ensure that the starcraft disk is in the CDROM drive and press ok.. To leave the program, press Exit." ok. since i downlaoded this game, it doesnt come with a CD. please tell me step by step how to make it so i can actually play the game. thanks.

I check the space on my hard drive and there was hardly any left. When I traced the file down that contained all the space taking material, it turned out to be the temporary internet files. I ascertained this by using properties on the drop down menu. When I looked in temp. int. files, there wasn't much actually there and I deleted it. The properties on the drop down menu still said there were lots of gigabytes of crap there. How do I get rid of this invisible crap. Please help.

I have two computers but only use one and both have 80 GB hard drives so i was wondering if i can use the other hard drive that im not using and put it into the computer im using and have 160 GB

I used the ram already, can i use any other parts from it too?

Im not really sure how to explain. I ran my virus scan, and when it was done, I got the little message to restart the computer. So I hit restart, it turned off, and when it started back up, it just goes back and forth to the "saving power" screen, to the "windows loading" screen, to the "hewlett packard" screen. I will not go to the page where it has the different accounts and you click on yours and do your password to get into windows. I turned it off and on, unplugged it, plugged it back in, and unplugged all the wires in the back and plugged them back in. Now its just showing those three screens over and over again. Help please?!

My company is holding a huge seminar this weekend and we're promoting it like crazy. In order to facilitate, our consulting company has issued promotional material in VCD format and I bought a load of 'em. I opened the VCD to find files in the format of .vcd. My business partner says that the film is playable on Windows Media Player, but so far I've plugged three CD's on two different computers and I couldn't launch it. I'm meeting some prospective partners tomorrow who will need to attend this seminar so I need to play the VCD to promote it to them.

Do you know what I need to do in order to make the VCD playable...perhaps download a plugin or a new software?

My computer takes 25-30 minutes to reboot and the programs lag unless they've already been opened, ive reformatted 3 times after the blue screen and it doesnt help much. Any ideas what could be wrong?
