Is Yahoo answers becoming a search engine with friendly feedback? There seems to be a stack of questions starting 'Does anyone know a good website for....?' and a load of responses with weblinks that most have found by simply searching using Yahoo or Google. Am I right or am I being a miserable cynic?

aaah4theday: How can they have time to post a question if they haven't got time to type a keyword into Yahoo and click on 'search'?

You're absolutely right - there are thousands of idiots who don't seem to be capable of working out when is the right time to search the net, and when is the right time to ask a question. I've taken to just posting a link to the relevant page of search results, hoping (probably in vain) that the message will sink in eventually - like this: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=Y%21Answers+users+are+morons+sometimes&btnG=Google+Search&meta=

I am noticing that as well. A lot of these questions can be answered with a simple web search. I get like a million looking for a free Office suit, even though OpenOffice is super easy to find or simple stats that are the first result on google.

It's like a search engine and almost like a chat room. I don't like chat rooms much as i don't understand what people are saying and what they say moves too fast.
Sometimes i get a bit carried away with it all and forget to search which makes me lazy, i guess.

No, your not ... but, maybe some don't have the time to look, and some can do the research for them .. and for free.
