Beta software is software that is not "officially" released yet. Meaning it is in a testing stage, and could have bugs.
It is a pre-release that is intended to allow the developer to get bug feedback from customers.
You could say it's a warning.. lol

Its a public test release to find any bugs in the software before officially releasing it. Usually beta is free to use. Sometimes you would find a beta program to work perfectly.

A beta is software that is usually a test version before going "gold" or final, that is given regular users. You might hear of alphas too, but those are almost always in house tested.

it is after Alpha, in software development terms, it means it is a testing version, where it a bet version is given to individuals for evaluation and to catch bug and error on the system. after getting all the evaluation, the new software will free from bug and errors (suppossedly).
