I have a Compaq computer. I found out that the hard drive is full. I dont want to delete any files. Can I add another hard drive and will it configure it without going through a lot of work and changes to my computer?

I have a Dell Inspirion 700M laptop and I had a virus so I had someone reinstall Windows for me, now I need to reinstall it again and the same person can't help me, what do I need to know before I uninstall and reinstall windows on my laptop? I have a cd with all the drivers he used. How do I reinstall those drivers and get my internet back up (or once I install the driver for my wireless card should I just connect?)

My other computer turns on, but before it can go to Windows XP, I get this error message:

I have an old sketch made about 10 years ago. There isn't much shading but there are area's where the dirty paper from aging and wear really shows from my scanner. I scanned in top quality which shows the defects of the paper really well. How can I remove this so it looks like it's on a clean piece of paper?

The dvd drive seems to be jammed as the eject button won't work and i cannot seem to get the disk to come out. A green light flashes (showing drive is either about to open or reading disk) it whirrs for a few secs then does nothing.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!
Need immediate fix options lol

I first noticed this line last week, and it is always there no matter what application I am in. The screen is still readable either side of it, and as it is very fine it doesn't stop me reading or seeing anything, but I'd like to get rid of it if anyone knows how?

There are 8 labels, in 2 columns on an A4 sheet. Is there an easy tool or something that already lays out the labels on the page so i can just add the addresses?

Okay, I am wondering about a couple of things, do any of them reduce my internet speed in any way? Just ruled out a couple of things I thought might prevent my internet connection from performing at it's best!

1.) Does it hinder internet speed and performance if the router itself is hot

2.) I use a USB connection (12Mbps) to connect my router and computer together so I can connect to the internet! I can't use an ethernet or LAN cable (100Mbps) which in general should be faster right? Does it matter which cable I use - USB or Ethernet/LAN that determines my speed? I can't use my ethernet cable because my computer doesn't detect it for some reason. Stupid aye? Might be broken???

3.) My broadband plan is the beginners plan, 10GB a month, max speed suggested by my ISP - 256k download 128 upload. Changing plan if this is the problem won't be an issue for me, it's just the data usage i am after! Is it my plan? Though my brother said it should be running faster than this!

Today out of no where, my laptop(An IBM T42) shut off completely with no warning at all. It would not turn back on at first so i took out the battery and unplugged it for a while. After about i minute i put the battery back in and plugged it back in and it turned on just fine. But after a while i noticed that when sending messages in aim or windows live messenger my computer would freeze a moment then send the message when they were literally instant before.

Also, and this is the big one, when i use internet explorer, it will eventually freeze and i have to end the not responding task. Then i can no longer open anything until i completely restart my computer.

is there any reason this could be happening? do i have a virus? is my computer just crapping out on me?

I need a laptop that is good for business and education. Good graphics, sound and design would be good, price range would be under (Aus) $1300. I'm thinking of buying an Asus; are they any good and reliable? Also, can anyone tell me the difference between Windows XP and Vista (I know there is new widgets, but other stuff?), and what is the difference between Vista Home and Vista Business?

OK i need a laptop because my desktop is a P.O.S. but i kinda dont want to buy anything new because I havent heard anything good or even decent about Windows Vista and if im gonna pay a shitload of money i dont want the thing to run really s l o w or like **** and close up programs on me (thats whats wrong with my current computer) and Vista is on every laptop out there right? but i eventually plan on getting one so what brand should i go with? heres some things to consider
-I want the Most Memory Possibly prefferbly 2 or more gigs
-Something that costs less or around $700
-Not really gonna install any games maybe one
-general use for this computer is gonna be school work and youtube for when im bored

I have a HP PSC 1110 all-in-one and it has been doing quite a great job for printing and scanning needs for a long time.

However I have discovered that recently that when it is switched on, it makes a terrible and irritating noise that sounds like screwed-up gears. But after that, the printer operates normally.

I want to know the source of this problem and also possible solutions to this issue.The noise is loud and unpleasant to the years and I want to fix it.
